The Autograph edition of the inclusive collection of Kipling's poetry. Octavo, bound in full crushed levant morocco with gilt titles and elaborate gilt tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, wide gilt decorated borders and central gilt botanical vignette to the front and rear panels, full morocco doublures with wide gilt inner dentelles, silk-watered endleaves, ribbon bound in, top edge gilt. One of two hundred and fifty numbered copies signed by Rudyard Kipling on the limitation page, this is number 120. In near fine condition. A stunning example.
English journalist, short-story writer, poet, and novelist Rudyard Kipling's major works include The Jungle Book (1894), Kim (1901) and many short stories and poems. Kipling was born in India, which inspired much of his work and his innovative stories for children have become timeless classics. Kipling was one of the most popular writers in the British Empire, in both prose and verse, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1907.
