Rare 20th century typed letter signed by President Roosevelt as New York Governor. One page, typescript on State of New York Executive Chamber stationary, the letter is dated August 11, 1930 and reads, 'Mr. Edwin T. Thayer, Brook Bend Tavern, Monterey, Mass. Dear Mr. Thayer: Thanks much for your delightful letter of August seventh. I am glad to know that you are carrying on such a fine work for the boys. I deeply regret it will be impossible for me to visit the farm at Canaan after the exercises at New Lebanon as I have already made arrangements to go on to Hyde Park. Sincerely yours, "Franklin D. Roosevelt."' Matted and framed with a large portrait of President Roosevelt and an informative placard. In near fine condition.
