Finely bound example of Du Maurier's most popular novel, the basis for Alfred Hitchcock’s Academy Award-winning 1940 film, signed by Alfred Hitchcock and the film's heroine Joan Fontaine. Octavo, bound in full polished calf with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, double ruling stamped in blind to the front and rear panels. Association copy, signed opposite the title page by Alfred Hitchcock opposite the title page, "Alfred Hitchcock." Hitchcock has added an original drawing of his instantly recognizable self-portrait in profile. Additionally signed by the film's heroine Joan Fontaine beneath Hitchcock's signature. In very good condition with toning to the spine and rubbing to the spine extremities. With two autograph letters of provenance laid in, one dated 1941. Housed in a custom slipcase.
