The Limited Editions Club signed limited edition of Victor Hugo’s masterpiece. Royal octavo, five volumes, bound in full modern morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe with gilt titles and numbers to the spine in six compartments within raised bands, all edges gilt, gilt turn-ins and inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, with hand-drawn illustrations. Boldly signed by illustrator Lynd Ward on the colophon page at the rear. One of 1,500 numbered copies, this is number 331. In fine condition. Translated from the French by Lascelles Wraxall. Introduction by André Maurois. Illustrated by Lynd Ward. An exceptional example.
