Austrian-America poet and novelist Walter Abish was awarded an MacArthur Fellowship in 1987. His first published work, Duel Site, contains the experimental poems Don't Speak to Me About Cartographers, Proust's Paradise Regained, Out Passage, and Destination Double Zero.
