Rare handwritten letter signed by Arthur Conan Doyle to lecture manager James B. Pond, Jr. Octavo, one page on Windlesham letterhead, the letter reads in full, "Dear Mr. Pond It is pleasant to see that you follow in the steps of your father, for whom I retain affection and regard. Should I think of coming west to lecture I would surely let you know, but I am hardly likely to do so, for I felt the strain last time & am older now. With all kind regards Arthur Doyle." In fine condition with a mailing crease. Double matted and framed with a black and white portrait of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a British writer, best known for creating the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes. Born in 1859, Doyle initially studied medicine and wrote several historical novels before achieving fame with his detective stories, beginning with A Study in Scarlet in 1887.
