Rare large format silver gelatin portrait of President Ronald Reagan by legendary photographer Yousuf Karsh. Signed by Karsh in the lower left corner and with a large autograph note signed by Reagan which reads, "To Jim Winokur - With Best Regards and Wishes Ronald Reagan." The recipient, Jim Winokur, was was a Pittsburgh attorney, stalwart Republic, art collector and WWII veteran. He was notably the person most responsible for bringing the World War II USS Requin submarine to Pittsburgh, where it is now an exhibit of the Carnegie Museum. In fine condition. Double matted and framed, 18 inches by 16 inches. The entire piece measures 28 inches by 23 inches. A striking portrait of Reagan, rare and desirable signed by both Reagan and Karsh and in such large format.

After a career in radio and film, Ronald Reagan served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. He was photographed by renowned portraitist Yousuf Karsh in 1969 as Governor of the State of California, and again in 1980 as President-elect, the session during which this portrait was produced.
