Rare early 18th century printing of Cervantes' masterpiece, printed by Juan Bautista Verdussen of Antwerp. Octavo, two volumes bound in full contemporary sheep with morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, gilt tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, all edges marbled, illustrated with engraved frontispieces and 32 plates. In very good condition, split to the spine crown of Vol. II. [Peeters-Fontainas 236]. From the collection of Kenneth Rapoport with his bookplate to the pastedowns. Contemporary ownership inscriptions. A nice 18th century binding.
