Octavo, bound in three quarters vellum by Riviere & Sons with green morocco spine label lettered in gilt, botanical gilt tooling to the spine, top edge gilt, pictorial endpapers, engraved frontispiece and decorated title page. In near fine condition. Rare and desirable. Ownership inscription.
Thompson states in her preface to the present volume: "The flowers in this posie have been culled from many a garden, field, and hedgegrow, and have been tied together with little attempt at grouping or arrangement. The aim has not been to appeal to the intellect, but rather to the emotions - to bring refreshment, encouragement, inspiration, and hope to those who are toiling up the steep path of life."
