"Robert Caro's monumental work on Lyndon Johnson is nothing short of a masterpiece. His unparalleled research and gripping narrative not only illuminate the complexities of Johnson's political career but also offer profound insights into the nature of power and leadership in American politics. Through his meticulous portrayal of Johnson's rise and tenure, Caro provides readers with a vivid and often unsettling portrait of the interplay between personal ambition and political strategy" (Doris Kearns Goodwin). "Robert Caro’s The Years of Lyndon Johnson is an extraordinary achievement in American biography. Caro’s exhaustive research and his ability to weave a compelling narrative make this series a definitive study not only of Lyndon Johnson but of American political life itself. His portrayal of Johnson's complex character and his ruthless pursuit of power is both enlightening and chilling" (Richard Hofstadter). "A monumental work that redefines political biography" (David Greenberg).
