Octavo, 33 volumes bound in three quarter crushed levant morocco over marbled boards by Zaehnsdorf with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, ribbons bound in, tissue-guarded frontispiece to select volumes, original paper spine labels tipped in at rear of each volume. Appendix volume with tipped-in chapbooks, as issued. One of one thousand and thirty-five numbered copies. this is number 399. Uniformly bound with five additional biographical volumes: Balfour, Life of Robert Louis Stevenson [two volumes, London: Methuen, 1901]; The Letters of Robert Louis Stevenson [two volumes, London: Methuen, 1899]; Stevensoniana [one volume, London: Grant Richards, 1903].
