Hailed by John Updike as "Graham Greene's masterpiece." The Power and the Glory was chosen by TIME magazine as one of the hundred best English-language novels since 1923. In 1947, the novel was adapted into a film, The Fugitive, directed by John Ford and starring Henry Fonda as the priest.
