Isaac Robert Cruikshank (1789–1856) was a prominent British caricaturist, illustrator, and satirist of the early nineteenth century, often overshadowed by his younger brother, George Cruikshank. Trained initially as a miniature painter, Isaac Robert turned to caricature and book illustration, contributing significantly to the vibrant satirical print culture of Regency and early Victorian Britain. His works frequently engaged with political and social themes, combining humor with pointed commentary, and he collaborated with writers such as Pierce Egan and William Hone. Among his notable contributions were illustrations for Life in London (1821), which offered a vivid depiction of urban life and popular entertainment, and his satirical designs for works like The Political Doctor Syntax (1820).
