First Edition of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan's Quest
First edition of the nineteenth book in Burroughs' extraordinary 'Tarzan' series. Octavo, original cloth, red top stain. In very good condition, contemporary inscription to the pastedown. Frontispiece and four illustrations by J. Allen St. John.
Following Burroughs' beloved character of the apes, 'Tarzan's Quest' is a narrative full of action and heroism. When the daughter of Muviro, chief of the Waziri, is abducted by the evil tribe of the Kavuru, the 'Lord of the Jungle' sets out on a mission of rescue—or, if need be, revenge. He does not know that his journey runs close to that of a strange group of survivors of a crashed plane—including his beloved wife, Jane, who must call upon all the skills she has learned from Tarzan to keep herself and her companions alive amid the terrors of the jungle and the unknown danger lurking within their party.
