Fourcroy was one of the earliest converts to the views of the modern chemist Antoine Lavoisier, which he diffused through his own extensive writings. However, Fourcroy was as much a teacher as he was an investigator, and his name appears on a large number of chemical and physiological memoirs. He helped establish schools for both primary and secondary education. Scientific studies were especially provided for.
