Rare first Greek edition of this early travelogue by Kazantzakis. Octavo, bound in half morocco over cloth. In very good condition.
During the late summer of 1926, Nikos Kazantzakis traveled to Spain as an envoy of the newspaper The Free Press , where he interviewed Primo de Rivera. On the next trip (October 1932 - December 1933) he stayed in Madrid studying Spanish literature and on this trip he visited Toledo and encountered the art of El Greco, which Kazantzakis writes powerfully about in this travelogue.
