First edition of this work by the legendary golfer. Quarto, original half cloth, illustrated. Inscribed by Arnold Palmer on the front free endpaper. Near fine in a very good price-clipped dust jacket.
Arnold Palmer (1929–2016) was one of the most influential figures in the history of professional golf, celebrated not only for his athletic achievements but also for his transformative role in popularizing the sport. Known as “The King,” Palmer won seven major championships, including four Masters Tournaments, and his charismatic style of play, combined with his working-class persona, made golf accessible to a broader American public during the 1950s and 1960s. Beyond the fairway, he helped usher in the television era of sports, attracting a mass audience and creating a devoted fan base known as “Arnie’s Army.” Palmer also pioneered athlete branding and endorsements, establishing a commercial model that reshaped professional sports.
