A founding member of the Bloomsbury Group and author of Eminent Victorians, Giles Lytton Strachey established a new form of biography in the early 19th century in which psychological insight and sympathy were uniquely combined with irreverence and wit. First published in 1921, his biography of Queen Victoria was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
