From the library of noted British industrialist Holbrook Gaskell, with his bookplate in each volume and signature to the front free endpaper. He owned a fine art and book collection which included works by Turner and Constable.
Principles of Political Economy is one of the most important economics or political economy books published. Political Economy is the term nineteenth-century writers used to refer to the study of what economists call macroeconomics, though its practitioners, such as Adam Smith, Mill, David Ricardo, and Karl Marx, were more philosophical and less empirical in their methods than modern economists.
