One More River (1933), published in Britain as Over the River, is the final novel of John Galsworthy’s End of the Chapter trilogy, following Maid in Waiting (1931) and Flowering Wilderness (1932). The story follows Dinny Cherrell and her sister Clare, who returns to England after leaving her cruel husband and faces the scandal of a divorce trial. Galsworthy, the creator of The Forsyte Saga, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1932 and died in January 1933, leaving this as his last completed novel. It was adapted as the 1934 film One More River, directed by James Whale and starring Diana Wynyard and Colin Clive.
