Iconic 1966 lithograph Dylan poster, boldly signed in black felt tip by the artist Milton Glaser at the bottom left corner. Milton Glaser designed the poster to coincide with the release of Bob Dylan's "Greatest Hits" album. This is certainly the most famous poster designed by Milton Glaser and one of the most recognized images of post-war American pop culture. For the poster Glaser also designed a brand-new type face, called Babyteeth, which he used for the poster's single word. Framed. In near fine condition with folds, creasing. The entire piece measures 24.25 inches by 35.25 inches. Rare and desirable signed.
Milton Glaser (1929–2020) was a seminal figure in American graphic design whose work significantly shaped visual culture in the second half of the twentieth century. As co-founder of Push Pin Studios and later New York Magazine, Glaser challenged prevailing modernist aesthetics by reintroducing historical references, hand-drawn illustration, and expressive typography into commercial design. His most iconic creations, including the I ♥ NY logo and the psychedelic Bob Dylan poster, exemplify his ability to distill complex cultural moments into visually arresting and widely accessible imagery. Beyond his commercial achievements, Glaser was also an influential educator, serving as the acting chairman of the School of Visual Arts, where he advocated for a socially engaged and humanistic approach to design practice.
