Milton Glaser was a seminal figure in American graphic design whose work significantly shaped visual culture in the second half of the twentieth century. As co-founder of Push Pin Studios and later New York Magazine, Glaser challenged prevailing modernist aesthetics by reintroducing historical references, hand-drawn illustration, and expressive typography into commercial design. His most iconic creations, including the I ♥ NY logo and the psychedelic Bob Dylan poster, exemplify his ability to distill complex cultural moments into visually arresting and widely accessible imagery. Beyond his commercial achievements, Glaser was also an influential educator, serving as the acting chairman of the School of Visual Arts, where he advocated for a socially engaged and humanistic approach to design practice.
