Michael Collins Signed Apollo 11 Launch Photograph.

Exceptionally Rare Apollo 11 Launch Photograph; Signed "Off to the Moon" With the Launch Date by Michael Collins
Original color photograph of the launch of Apollo 11 atop its Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center on July 16, 1969. Boldly signed and inscribed at the top right corner of the image by Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins, “Off to the Moon - Michael Collins Apollo XI CMP July 16, 1969.” This is an exceptionally rare inscription, the only example we have been able to locate in which Collins has added the words “Off to the Moon” together with the launch date on a photograph of the launch itself. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from James Spence Authentication (JSA) and Zarelli Space Authentication. In fine condition. The photograph measures 8 inches by 10 inches.
On July 20th 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on the lunar surface while Michael Collins, the mission's Command Module Pilot, orbited the Moon alone aboard the command module Columbia. Six hours after landing, Neil Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface, and Aldrin joined him 19 minutes later, the two spending over two hours collecting lunar materials. Armstrong's first step onto the lunar surface was broadcast on live TV to a worldwide audience, during which he uttered the historic phrase, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Apollo 11 effectively ended the Space Race and fulfilled a national goal proposed in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy: "before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."
