First edition of Robuchon's classic cook book. Octavo, original pictorial boards, pictorial endpapers, illustrated with full-page color photographs by Corrinne Ryman and Pierre Cabannes. Presentation copy, inscribed by the chef/author on the half-title page, "A Jacques Cooper, avec ma sympathie gourmaude Le 13 Mars 1986 Robuchon." In very good condition with a small area of dampstaining to the first several pages. Cover design by George Lemoine. Books signed by Robuchon are rare.
French chef and restaurateur Joël Robuchon was named "Chef of the Century" by the guide Gault Millau in 1989 and awarded the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (France's best worker) in cuisine in 1976. He published several cookbooks, two of which have been translated into English.
