First edition of Robuchon's classic cookbook, published three years before Gault Millau named him Chef of the Century. Octavo, original pictorial boards, pictorial endpapers, illustrated with full-page color photographs by Corrinne Ryman and Pierre Cabannes. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author in French on the half-title page which translates to, "To Monsieur Saito, with my gourmand good wishes. 19 Octobre 1985 Robuchon." In fine condition. Written with Catherine Michel. Cover design by George Lemoine. Books signed by Robuchon are uncommon.
French chef and restaurateur Joël Robuchon was named "Chef of the Century" by the guide Gault Millau in 1989 and awarded the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (France's best worker) in cuisine in 1976. He published several cookbooks, two of which have been translated into English.
