Rare first edition of this classic work by the "most celebrated poet of Bordeaux." Octavo, bound in full period cloth retaining the original cloth spine, illustrated with tissue-guarded engravings. In very good condition.
"The most celebrated poet of Bordeaux, Biarnez, wrote of the chateaux and the wines so dear to his heart in cool and measured Alexandrines reminiscent of Racine"(Schoonmaker). His Grands Vins de Bordeaux consists of two parts: the first devoted to Médoc wines, the second to white Bordeaux wines.
