Finely bound example of Anthony Trollope's La Vendée
New edition of Trollope's work on the history of the Vendée. Octavo, bound in three quarters morocco over marbled boards with red morocco spine label lettered in gilt, gilt tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised bands, marbled endpapers and all edges marbled, engraved headpieces and tailpeices. In very good condition.
Trollope published La Vendée in 1850, an account detailing the rich history of the region. In his preface, he paid tribute to Madame de la Rochejaquelein, on whose memoirs of the war he based his story.
