John D. Rockefeller Signed Christmas Card.

Rare original Christmas card signed by John D. Rockefeller. Octavo, with an inlay black and white image of the Japanese teahouse on the grounds of Rockefeller's 'Kykuit' estate to the front. Boldly signed by John D. Rockefeller inside in fountain pen. The printed holiday greeting above reads in full, "With hearty Christmas Greetings and all good wishes for the New Year from John D. Rockefeller." A hand-written secretarial dedication lies below, "With highest regard for my distinguished kinsfolk." In very good condition with light toning. The piece measures 5.75 inches by 8 inches closed. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, secretarially addressed to "Mr. & Mrs. B. F. Rockefellow, Canon City, Colorado." The recipient, Rockefeller's cousin Benjamin Franklin Rockafellow (1835-1926), served in the Civil War, went West and fought Indians, and developed the Rockvale and Brookside mines in Colorado. For eight years, Rockafellow served as president of the Rockefeller Family Association.
