Rare Standard Oil Trust Stock Certificate signed by both John D. Rockefeller and Henry Morrison Flagler. Partially printed document signed "HM Flagler" as Secretary and "JD Rockefeller" as President, one page, numbered 3081, dated June 22, 1887. Stock certificate for twenty shares in Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust issued to George H. Prentiss & Co. In very good condition with cancellation ink stamp on front and cancellation red ink lines are drawn through the signatures with additional cancellation cuts. The original receipt remains affixed at the left edge. Transfer information present on verso. The piece measures 15.5 inches by 7.75 inches. Rare and desirable signed by both Rockefeller and Flagler.
John D. Rockefeller (1839-1937) was a business magnate and philanthropist whose Standard Oil empire made him the wealthiest man in the world. Henry Flagler (1830-1913) was a real estate and railroad entrepreneur who also co-founded Standard Oil, remembered for his efforts to make Florida the 'Newport of the South' by providing extensive rail access and grand hotels to lure wealthy vacationers.
