The Limited Editions Club signed limited edition of Joyce’s first prose work, his great collection of short stories. Quarto, bound in half morocco over cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, tissue-guarded frontispiece, illustrated with tissue-guarded photogravures. Boldly signed by novelist Thomas Flanagan and illustrator Robert Ballagh on the colophon page at the rear. One of 1,000 numbered copies, this is number 67. In fine condition. Photogravures by Robert Ballagh. Introduction by Thomas Flanagan. Thomas Bonner Flanagan (1923–2002) was an American-born scholar and novelist whose landmark study The Irish Novelists, 1800–1850 (1959) helped revive interest in 19th‑century Irish fiction, while his celebrated historical trilogy—beginning with The Year of the French (1979)—cemented his reputation as a master of literary fiction grounded in meticulous historical and philological insight. Housed in a custom cloth slipcase.
