Paperback original of this collection of poems that were essentially a poetical conversation between Harrison and Kooser. Association copy, inscribed by Harrison on the half-title page, "To George and Sarah un amore from Uncle Jim." Harrison has added a drawing of himself as a one-eyed man. In fine condition.
Longtime friends Jim Harrison and Ted Kooser always exchanged poems in their letter writing. After Kooser was diagnosed with cancer, Harrison found that his friend's poetry became "overwhelmingly vivid", and they began a correspondence comprised entirely of brief poems, collected here.
