“I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine": Tenth Anniversary Edition of Atlas Shrugged; Signed by Ayn Rand
Tenth Anniversary edition one of the most influential novels of the twentieth century. Octavo, original blue cloth, top stain blue. One of number 2000 numbered copies, this is number 1654. Boldly signed by the author on the limitations page, "Ayn Rand." Near fine in a very good acetate jacket.
The theme of Atlas Shrugged, as Rand described it, is "the role of man's mind in existence." The book explores a number of philosophical themes that Rand would subsequently develop into the philosophy of Objectivism. By 1984 more than five million copies of Atlas Shrugged had been sold, and in a 1991 Library of Congress survey Americans named it second only to the Bible as the book that had most influenced their lives.
