Rare carte-de-visite portrait of Abraham Lincoln after the famous "$5 bill" photograph of Lincoln, matted and framed with a rare silk "The Late Lamented President Lincoln" Memorial Ribbon. The famous "$5 bill" photograph of Lincoln (known as O-92) was taken by Anthony Berger in Brady's Washington studio on February 9th, 1864, and of it Lincoln's son Tad later wrote: "I have always thought the Brady photograph of my father to be the most satisfactory likeness of him."The carte-de-visite measures 3.75 inches by 2.5 inches. The silk memorial ribbon measures 10 inches by 2.5 inches. Matted and framed. The entire piece measures 27 inches by 14 inches. A handsome presentation.
