First edition of this work by the legendary golfer, who became golf's biggest money winner. Octavo, bound in full morocco by the Harcourt Bindery with gilt titles and ruling to the spine in five compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, frontispiece, illustrated throughout. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To my good friend Fred Burns. Fred I appreciate your sincerity. Always Sam." In fine condition. Written with Al Stump.
Sam Snead won a record 82 PGA Tour events, including seven majors. His nickname was "Slammin' Sammy" and he was admired by many for having the so-called "perfect swing," which generated many imitators. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974, and received the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
