Rare first edition, first issue of the The Annual Register for the Year 1776, a long-established reference work, written and published each year beginning in 1758 under the editorship of Edmund Burke. Octavo, bound in full brown calf with gilt titles to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, all edges speckled red, marbled endpapers. First issue points of the first printing of the Declaration of Independence outside of the United States on pages 261-264 and the nascent United States' Articles of Confederation appears on pages 264-270. In near fine condition with toning.
