First edition. Octavo, original cloth. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to Howard Watson, "dear Howard, What can one say: except that its been a wonderful summer, not least the wonder of which has been your unfailing patience, your incomparable kindness. So: with much gratitude from your friend Truman." The recipient was Howard Watson, public relations executive for The Saturday Evening Post and close personal friend of the author.
