Limited edition, one of 600 copies. Lavishly bound in full contemporary green morocco, raised bands, gilt titles and decorations to the spine, front and rear panels. Top edge gilt. In near fine condition. From the Stillington Hall Estate in Gloucester, MA, with their tasteful bookplate. Stillington Hall, was built by Leslie Buswell, who was in the early 20th century, one of a foursome of wealthy, good-looking, hard-partying men who met in the social circles of Boston and Eastern Point and built their family fortunes.
The Complete Angler, first published in 1653, has become a classic of English literature. Where other angling books are of limited appeal to those who do not fish, The Complete Angler inspires readers from all walks of life to go in search of the timeless English countryside that Walton evokes with such love.
