Sir Thomas Browne (1605–1682) was an English polymath, physician, and writer known for his rich prose and intellectual curiosity. Christian Morals, published posthumously in 1716, is a reflective and philosophical work that explores ethical and religious themes through a Christian lens. Written as a sequel to his earlier work Religio Medici, it offers moral guidance rooted in Christian doctrine while incorporating Browne’s characteristic blend of scientific observation, classical references, and personal meditation. The text emphasizes virtues such as humility, charity, and piety, advocating for a life of moral integrity and spiritual contemplation.
