First edition of this collection of lectures delivered by Solow in the University of Manchester. Octavo, original wrappers. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the title page, "For John Rogers with best wishes Robert Solow." In very good condition with residue to the front and rear panels.
American economist Robert Solow's work on the theory of economic growth culminated in the exogenous growth model named after him. These lectures provide an econometric test of the concept of the 'trade-off' between the rate of inflation and the level of employment and economic activity using data from both the United States and United Kingdom. In the course of the test, Solow studies to the extent to which changes in the general price level are affected by changes in cost factors and in the pressure of demand, and by incomes policies or 'guideposts'.
