First edition of this work about entrepreneurship in the United States. Octavo, original publisher's boards. Association copy, inscribed by the author on the half title page, "To Madeleine, With great respect for all you do to make the world a better place. All the best, Craig Hall." The recipient, Madeleine K. Albright, was the first woman to serve as the U.S. Secretary of State. She acted under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, leading the United States through foreign policy in the Middle East with the endorsement of military action in Iraq. At the 1998 NATO summit, Albright coined the “3 Ds” of NATO, “which is no diminution of NATO, no discrimination and no duplication – because I think that we don’t need any of those three “Ds” to happen.” After her tenure as Secretary of State, she served as chair of the consulting Albright Stonebridge Group and was the Michael and Virginia Mortara Endowed Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. For Albright’s contributions to foreign policy and relations that defined a century, President Barack Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. From the library of Madeleine Albright with her bookplate to the front pastedown. Foreword by Mark Zandi the chief economist at Moody's Analytics. Jacket design by Sara Lovas.
"Entrepreneurship will never be a smooth ride. There is no such thing as a level playing field in the short run. There are always bumps, and things that aren't fair will always occur, whether in business or any other part of life. That said, having the faith to leap - and the tenacity to fight for what's needed to level out the playing field - can do more than just bring back U.S. entrepreneurship. We can help fashion a world that it is faster, cheaper, and on many levels better for business today than it was in the past. And we can all play a part in that" (Craig Hall).
