Rare Standard Oil Trust Stock Certificate signed by both John D. Rockefeller and Henry Morrison Flagler. Partially printed document signed "HM Flagler" as Secretary, "JD Rockefeller" as President,  and “J A Bostwick” as treasurer. One page, numbered A512, dated April 5, 1882. Stock certificate for 100 shares in Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust issued to W. P. Thompson. The recipient of the shares, Col. William P. Thompson, was a vice president of Standard Oil. In near fine condition. The original receipt remains affixed at the left edge, signed again by Flagler on Thompson's behalf. Transfer of stock document affixed to verso, cancellation rubber stamp dated April 8 1896 to left edge. Rare and desirable signed by both Rockefeller and Flagler. The piece measures 11.5 inches by 7.75 inches.
John D. Rockefeller (1839-1937) was a business magnate and philanthropist whose Standard Oil empire made him the wealthiest man in the world. Henry Flagler (1830-1913) was a real estate and railroad entrepreneur who also co-founded Standard Oil, remembered for his efforts to make Florida the 'Newport of the South' by providing extensive rail access and grand hotels to lure wealthy vacationers. Jabez Abel Bostwick (1830-1892) was a founding partner of Standard Oil, serving as the company's first treasurer.
