Mary Wells Lawrence, born in 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, is a trailblazing advertising executive who founded the influential agency Wells, Rich, Greene in 1966. Known for her innovative and bold campaigns, she created memorable ads such as the "I ♥️ New York" slogan and the colorful rebranding of Braniff International Airways. As one of the first women to lead a major advertising firm, Lawrence broke numerous barriers in a male-dominated industry, setting new standards for creativity and strategic thinking.
