The Bells and Other Poems by Edgar Allan Poe contains a selection of Poe's best-known poems, including: Annabel Lee, The Raven, A Dream Within a Dream, Evening Star and Spirits of the Dead. Nineteenth century American writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe remains one of the most widely recognized figures in American literature, and literature as a whole, for his dark and often macabre contributions to Romantic and Gothic fiction. Poe himself considered his most famous poem, The Raven, to be his finest poem—indeed, he was quoted as saying it was the finest poem ever written.
