The Autograph edition of the Author's Digest, one of thirty-two numbered copies with an original article written and signed by Mark Twain, this is number 16. Octavo, 20 volumes in the original publisher's three quarters crushed levant navy morocco, gilt titles, tooling, and red and green morocco onlays to the spine in five compartments within raised gilt bands, top edge gilt, illustrated with original watercolor and ink drawings illuminated in gold and tissue-guarded engravings. One of thirty-two numbered copies with an original article written and signed by Mark Twain signed by him at the conclusion of his contribution. Prepared by Duncan Mackintosh and signed and sealed by the Registrar on the limitation page. In near fine condition. A very nice set, rare and desirable signed by the great American author.
