Finely bound example of Defoe's classic tale of adventure. Octavo, 2 volumes, illustrated with engravings from designs by Thomas Stothard, bound in full calf by Riviere & Son, spines with raised bands, twin burgundy morocco and a single olive morocco spine labels, and elaborate gilt floral tooling within gilt-ruled compartments, interlocked by roundels at corners, gilt inner dentellles feature an interlocking floral frieze and two repeating geometic rules made up of repeating geometric devices, top edge gilt, black coated endpapers. In very good condition. An attractive Riviere binding.
