One of the leading figures of the Radnor Hunt in the early 20th century, J. Stanley Reeve was a seasoned sportsman and sharp dresser celebrated for his colorful straw bowlers and occasional orange suit. Married to a cousin of Theodore Roosevelt, Reeve was once described by Town & Country magazine as “the leading foxhunter of the leading foxhunting city in the country.” With its excellent hounds, elegant balls, social buzz, and splendid grounds and clubhouse, the Radnor Hunt Club was the place to be in the 1920s.
