Rare graphite artist’s sketch of American film and stage actor Henry Fonda as Clarence Darrow. Signed by Henry Fonda to the left of his portrait. Additionally signed by the artist, P.B. Socci. Active in the mid 1970s, American artist Pat B. Socci gained a reputation for seeking out Hollywood icons to sign his sketched portraits. The drawing measures 8.75 inches by 11.5 inches.
American film and stage actor Henry Jaynes Fonda made his Hollywood debut in 1935, gaining fame after his Academy Award-nominated performance as Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath, the 1940 film adaptation of Steinbeck's masterpiece. Fonda was the patriarch of a family of famous actors, including daughter Jane Fonda, son Peter Fonda, granddaughter Bridget Fonda, and grandson Troy Garity.
