Canary in a Cathouse contains twelve of Vonnegut's early short stories, eleven of which appear in the later collection Welcome to the Monkey House. Stories include Report on the Barnhouse Effect, All the Kings Hourses, The Euphio Question (all of which first appeared in Collier's Magazine), and Unready to Wear which first appeared in Galaxy Science Fiction in April of 1953.
